Short version: Mopup works on your Mac and keeps what it finds there. When you buy, I keep only what's needed to give you your license and help you.
Mopup is made by Suman Maharjan ("I", "me"), who decides how the personal data described here is used, as its controller. For anything about your data, write to support@mopup.online.
The app
- Scans and cleaning happen on your Mac. Scan results, file names and sizes never leave it.
- There are no analytics, no crash reports and no account.
- Your license is checked on your Mac, without contacting a server.
- Mopup checks its website for updates. Like any web request, this shows your IP address and the version of Mopup and macOS you run.
- When it looks at git worktrees, Mopup asks GitHub which pull requests have merged, through the
ghcommand you have signed in yourself. That request goes from your Mac straight to GitHub.
Buying
Paddle, our merchant of record, handles payment. Card and payment details go to Paddle and are never seen by me. Paddle is responsible for what it collects to sell to you, as Paddle's privacy notice describes.
After a purchase I receive your email address, your name if you gave one, and the order number. They are used to create your license, to let you recover it, and to answer you if you write.
This website
This website runs on Cloudflare, which processes requests, including IP addresses, to serve the site and protect it. The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. The checkout loads Paddle's script, which may set cookies of its own to take the payment and prevent fraud.
If you write to support@mopup.online, your message is kept so I can answer you and follow up.
Feedback
The feedback form sends what you write, what it is about, how Mopup is working for you if you say, your email if you give one, and, when you open it from the app, the versions of Mopup and macOS. It is kept so I can act on it and reply. Your IP address is turned into a one-way hash, used only to limit how many messages one address can send in an hour, and never shown. To have your feedback removed, write to support@mopup.online.
Why I use it
- License records are needed to provide the license you bought and to let you recover it.
- Support emails and feedback are used because I have a legitimate interest in answering you and improving Mopup.
- Request data and hashed addresses are used because I have a legitimate interest in keeping the site working and free of abuse.
Nothing is sold, used for advertising, or used to build a profile of you.
Who else handles it
- Paddle, for everything to do with payment, as merchant of record.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and stores license records and feedback.
- My email provider, for messages you send to support@mopup.online.
- Professional advisers, or authorities where the law requires it.
Paddle and Cloudflare may process data outside your country, under their own data protection terms.
How long it's kept
License records are kept for as long as Mopup is sold, so you can always recover your license. Support emails and feedback are kept for as long as they help me answer you or improve Mopup, and deleted sooner if you ask.
Keeping it safe
The website and the app's update checks use encrypted connections. License records and feedback are stored with Cloudflare, which encrypts them at rest, and only I can read them.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete what I hold about you, or object to how it's used, by writing to support@mopup.online. I'll reply within a month. Deleting your record means your license can no longer be recovered from the website, though the key you already have keeps working. If you're unhappy with how I've handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
